Floodplain Management Plans

May 13, 2016 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Silver Jackets Program will host a FREE seminar for communities, as well as drainage and levee districts, in Kansas and Missouri. Both the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Water Resources and the State Emergency Management Agency in Missouri, endorse this training on floodplain management plans (FMPs).  The course presents how FMPs include a risk assessment, a careful evaluation of the full set of flood risk management measures, public involvement, and an action plan.  ASFPM has been approved two hours continued education credit for Certified Floodplain Managers.  This class will have two hours of instruction and is being offered at the Mid-America Regional Council on May 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
